Have we gearheads forgotten what cold air means?
Dense air! It's like nature's own turbocharger, giving you gifts of torque and happiness and all you gotta do is see your breath for a while.
So keep warm the oppo way, and burn some rubber

The sporty wagon enjoys it very much ;)
Just need less DPF and EGR :)

I had the blizzaks put on a few days ago.......my FiST is loving the light snow.

Turbo cars especially love cold air. My car feels faster in the winter.

I wish there was some magical place where it was cold and dry all the time. Mas power, no ice or rain, a real boost haven

I've seen FiSTs tear up dirt tracks, I can only imagine the fun in the snow

My alleged turbo is non-intercooled and not doing much beyond heating my air at this point, so cold 'n' wet is welcome.

I read somewhere that the optimal temperature for most cars is 68 degrees F.

I hate the cold.
But my engine has had some extra pull lately...

Operating, ambient, or intake? Lord knows my engine bay isn't exactly 35°F. Maybe this cold ambient reaches closer to whatever the optimal intake temp is

Hello leaving stop signs in 2nd gear

I can't wait to get mine, the Accord is tre boring and floaty.

LOL! Not that much pull, I'm afraid...
But past 4K in 2nd feels pretty macho.

ambient. The explanation was as the outside air temp decreases and gets denser, drag on the car increases negating the positive effects of the denser air entering the car's intake.
I've seen arguments that say anything with EFI it doesn't matter bc the computer controls fuel based on air intake anyway so unless you have it tuned to adjust there's no benefit. Like how the MCM guys showed sticking on an aftermarket air filter doesn't help unless you tune the car to take advantage of the extra breath.

It isn't like my old Audi 200TQ 20V, so I have to slow down for damp pavement, but a properly sharp turn in and some lift off oversteer at manageable speeds make the commute fun and exciting when I want it to be......Or I just turn the TC back on and drive like a camry owner and the FWD hatch just goes along like any other fiesta. Oh and heated recaro seats. BEST. SEATS. EVER. Go from chilly winter's morning to "I stuck my butt in the fireplace" in about a minute.

Ooh, I didn't even think of drag. Makes sense. First two gears aren't affected by drag that much I figure, and it's not like driving around town requires going over 50
Lucky me with my bama tuner, I can just tick my WOT fuel ratio up
![]() 11/13/2014 at 11:42 |

Yeah, drag isn't a huge factor at city/suburban speeds.

There are several deserts that fit that bill. The most famous is probably Antarctica

the only thing that bothers me about it is salt. Fuck salt. I don't care about snow or cold temps, but fuck salt.
